Burton’s involvement with Springer comes as the head coach of the Patriots, Mike Vrabelfinds herself in hot water for allegedly dating a former NFL player, Dianna Russini.
Vrabel, 50, took a short break from the team during the 2026 NFL Draft to attend counseling with his wife, Jenmarried to him since 1999. (Russini, 43, is married Kevin Goldschmidt as of 2020.)
“I promised my family, this organization and this team that I would give them the best version of me that I could give them. To do that, I have committed to getting counseling, starting this weekend,” Vrabel said in a statement to ESPN on April 22.
His statement continued, “I have always wanted to be a role model, and I believe that this is what I need to do to be the best husband, father and coach that I can be. This is not something easy for me to admit, but it is something that I know will make me a better person. I appreciate the support that everyone has given me and I promise to work hard for it.”
Vrabel is back with the team and will be part of the coaching staff — alongside Springer — when the Patriots make an AFC title run in the fall.
