Parent Advocate Mourns Death of 2-Year-Old Daughter

A parenting advocate Jamal Morton pays tribute to her two-year-old daughter after she drowned in the family swimming pool.

“You were the best daughter a father could ever ask for,” Morton wrote via GoFundMe, which was set up on Tuesday, June 23. “Losing a child is a pain I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I hate to make this post but you won’t be seeing me for a while. I have to take a break.”

He went on to say, “I lost my daughter, she thought she was a big girl and could swim by herself, she left the house and went into the pool where she drowned. I hope there is a heaven because I can’t imagine her sitting alone. So God, if you are real, please watch over my child. Rest in Peace my sweet angel. Daddy loves you forever, Rose.”

Morton went on to ask fans to consider donating to his fundraiser, which has a goal of $6,500. (At press time, the GoFundMe has raised more than $4,000.)

“Please help us send him home,” he wrote. “We have to leave because we can’t live in that house anymore, and I don’t think I’ll be able to work soon.

The collector noted that his daughter’s service will be held on Sunday, June 28. No other details have been shared.

Morton shared a similar message via Instagram on Tuesday, where she uploaded a video of her daughter blowing out a birthday candle. “Rip,” he wrote on top of the clip. She also uploaded more photos of her Peppa Pig-themed birthday party in a separate Instagram post on Tuesday.

A Facebook post on Wednesday, June 24, noted that Morton’s social media accounts are “currently managed by his team.”

“He is currently offline, not posting content, responding to messages, or managing his pages,” the message read. “Administrators are keeping her platforms up and running while she and her family take time to grieve the loss of their baby girl. This is an incredibly difficult time, and we ask for your understanding, prayers, and respect for their privacy as they deal with this unimaginable loss.”

The statement continued, “Your continued love, support, and kind words mean more than you know. Thank you for standing with the family at this time.”

Morton shares parenting and family content on her social media accounts, which have amassed more than 2.6 million and 1.1 million followers on Instagram and TikTok, respectively. Jamal, who is married to a wife Jessica Mortonhe has nine children.

Jamal announced the birth of his daughter in 2024, writing on Instagram, “I would like to introduce you all to my beautiful princess Sadé Rose 🌹.❤️❤️ Welcome to the world of a baby girl.”
