Zohran Mamdani inspires the socialist wave to move the Democratic Party to the left

Socialism has long been considered a dirty word in American politics.

It ignored the rejection of the capitalist process that fueled the country’s rise to superpower, which is very reminiscent of a dreamy, wealth-sharing philosophy against the grain of brutal corporate competition.

Looked at another way, the US has a mixed system, with a government-run retirement system, government-run health care programs for the elderly and the poor, and many programs to help farmers, small businesses, schools, veterans, the unemployed and so on. Not exactly the European welfare state, but perhaps a close cousin.

Currently, socialists exist in Democratic politics.

NEW DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS WON THE PRIMARY BUT FACED THE HARD TRUTH IN THE GENERAL ELECTIONS.

Following the lead of the most visible champion, Zohran Mamdani, they pushed the party to the left – and with deeper, darker things, especially in foreign policy.

This is like a wrapped Fourth of July gift to Republicans, who are excited to spend the next few years competing against these new socialists.

Perhaps that word is no longer associated with evil, because President Trump says that three people on the far left that the Mayor of New York has successfully pushed through Congress are “Communists.” That sounds like a throwback to the 1950s witch hunt known as McCarthyism.

But this goes beyond Washington and Seattle and electing socialists as mayors, and the obvious point is that most of the country is far to the right compared to the liberal cauldron that is New York City.

The new socialists may have happiness on their side, but some of their ideas are very dangerous. And they fought their war openly under the banner of the Democratic Socialists of America.

“The Democratic Party allows DSA candidates to run as Democrats, even though DSA is committed to taking the party by storm,” said Jonah Goldberg, editor-in-chief of the Dispatch, a hard-line, anti-Trump website. “DSA is not an official party; it calls itself a ‘political organization and activists, not a party.’ What it is is the fifth column within the Democratic Party. No sane, informed Democrat thinks these people are good for their party. ”

What about the left? On the liberal talk show “The View,” Joy Behar declared that “I’m not afraid of the word. Social Security is democratic socialism. It’s partly what unemployment insurance is. People who pick up your trash, people who put out a fire in your house. It’s all democratic socialism.”

But it gets worse.

Congressional candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier speaks at a get-out-the-vote rally in New York City.

The new socialists are passionately anti-Israel, which is clearly worthy of criticism for Bibi Netanyahu’s endless wars, but it reinforces the idea that the Democratic Party, even in New York, has turned its back on our long-standing alliance in the Middle East. That shows a change in the team.
Based on their words, many of them hate America and Israel.

Trump wasted no time fueling his rhetoric: “Killing is a big deal to them. They’re animals … They’re going to kill your people. And that’s what they’re about.”

The three members of congress who were successfully pushed by Mamdani are openly pro-Palestine. And the mayor, who used the phrase “from the river to the sea” – which means wipe Israel off the map – takes the same position, even in a city with a large Jewish population outside of Israel.

THE LEFT DEMOCRATS ARE BEING THROWN UNDER THE BUS, AND THE SOCIALISTS ARE IN THE SOCIALIST’S SEAT.

That seems to be their main issue. There is nothing wrong with the Democratic incumbents who were fired – they were not anti-Israel enough.

The most outrageous of the Mamdani-backed winners is Darializa Avila Chevalier, a community organizer and doctoral student who has supported police and prisons, ending borders, ending ICE, confiscating private property and nationalizing large industries.

The day after the brutal October 7 attack by Hamas that killed 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped them, Chevalier attended a pro-Palestinian rally in Times Square. He was celebrating the horrific terrorist attack.

Chevalier also called Joe Biden a “rapist” and used the F word against Kamala Harris. And this is not ancient history, it is one of the messages sent as recently as 2022.

As National Review pointed out, Chevalier is not alone.

Aber Kawas, the Democratic candidate for the New York state Senate, argues that America deserved the 9/11 attack: A lot.

“The idea that we should apologize, like the terrorist attack, as it happened, to a few people, and then there is no apology or compensation for the genocide and slavery, and so on, something I find, like, suspicious,” said Kawas.

Chris Rabb, representing the state of Pennsylvania and the Democratic nominee for Congress, blamed the Bondi Beach massacre of Australian Jews on “Zionists.” Adam Hamawy, a former Army doctor and now a Democratic nominee for Congress from New Jersey, worked with the “blind sheikh,” Omar Abdel-Rahman, who was convicted in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. He even testified on behalf of the Sheikh. Now he says he denies Abdel-Rahman’s calls for violence.

One of Mamdani’s winners, Claire Valdez, not only ended ICE but says “arrest and deportation have been used as a weapon, not just against immigrants, but against the entire working class.”

And in the west, Melat Kiros, another socialist running in Colorado, was asked by a local anchor about the fire attack on peaceful protesters who supported the Jewish hostages held by Hamas – and refused to condemn it.

“I don’t know what was in the heart of the perpetrator,” he said.

LEFT, LEFT AND LEFT: RADICAL DEMOCRATS, BIG CITY MAYORS

Wow. This is a really low bar – and you have failed to clear it.

Does this sound like the kind of people who should be the face of the Democratic Party?

New York Rep. Tom Suozzi has rallied 12 other Democratic lawmakers to fight for him. Under the banner of “Promise to America,” these moderate liberals present themselves as champions of capitalism, the police and patriotism.

“We don’t agree with MAGA. We don’t agree with socialism,” Suozzi said. “We believe that the majority of Americans want common leadership, not political extremism.”

A small group with little influence, but the Suozzi gang is trying to send a message that this group is not a prisoner of crazy socialists.

“I’m a capitalist, I’m not a socialist… I’m not ashamed of America,” Suozzi told Fox News Digital.

James Carville came out with an X sound, calling Chevalier and saying: “Miss, I’m not in the same party as you… I don’t want to be in a political party that rejects the right of the state of Israel to exist. I just won’t do that.”

Even if a handful of leftists are elected, they will set the tone for a growing extremist party with views that most voters would find repugnant.
