Morgan Wallen Talks About Weather Canceling Concert

Morgan Wallen is speaking out after his Saturday, June 6, concert in Pittsburgh was canceled at the last minute.
“This morning my team left on my bus, they told me they had been talking to local officials and that I had to cancel my show in Pittsburgh tonight,” Wallen, 33, said in a late-night video he shared on his Instagram Stories. “I said, ‘Why?’ They said there would be strong winds in the area, and I said, ‘Okay.’ So, that’s what I did, and that was the information I had at the time. “
He continued, “I trusted my team, and I understand that the atmosphere and what’s going on hasn’t reached Pittsburgh yet.”
Wallen went on to explain the reason for canceling his show.
“The truth of the matter is that I have a big stage, that in those circumstances, it can kill a lot of people around it,” he said. “I did the best I could with the information I had at the time. I kept seeing a lot of nonsense about myself that wasn’t true, and I wanted to clear the air.”
The country singer reiterated that his “true fans” understand that safety comes first.
“I think my true fans know that’s not how I normally operate,” he said of the swirling online speculation. “I had to say it, mind you.”
Wallen announced a few hours earlier that the concert will be cancelled.
“After speaking with local officials and my team, I have no choice but to cancel tonight’s program due to the bad weather that is expected all day and all night,” he wrote in a statement at the time. “The safety of my fans and staff is of the utmost importance. Refunds are available at the time of purchase.”
The show, which was supposed to be held at the Acrisure Stadium, was canceled following the forecast of thunderstorms in the area.
One fan said: “It is what it is TribLive of the program he was planning to attend. “It is fortunate that we will be able to get our tickets back.”
Wallen is currently on his own Still the Problem Tour, where he contracted the virus late last month knocking over the piano during the Colorado concert.
“Hey, I want you to know that right now the piano is working,” he said in a TikTok video afterward. “That’s what they told me last night, too.”
