Mariska Hargitay Joins Jalen Brunson at Knicks Parade

Millions of New York Knicks fans went to the Canyon of Heroes in New York City to celebrate the 2026 NBA champions, and the actor. Mariska Hargitay maybe you had the best idea ever.
Hargitay, 62, joined friend and NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson on one of the floats that carried the Knicks players from the southern tip of Manhattan to city hall. Jalen’s father, a Knicks assistant Rick Brunsonand he was with them, along with Jalen’s wife, Ali Marks Brunsonand the couple’s 23-month-old daughter, Jordyn.
Mariska’s son, August, joined her in the float, wearing a custom “Marknickska Hargitay” shirt with the same viral style. Alana Haim-designed shirts that he, Mariska and Taylor Swift worn during Game 4 of the Finals.
A video shared on social media showed Mariska dancing as the float went up, throwing a t-shirt into the crowd.
Other celebrities who were at the show were also included Timothée Chalamet, Martha Stewart, Spike Lee, Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan and a host of former Knicks players.
A diehard Knicks fan, Mariska has befriended the Brunson family. His self-described run from his Broadway show to Madison Square Garden in Game 4 has become part of the story of the game itself, where the Knicks erased a 29-point deficit to win in the final seconds.

As for Jalen, 29, he’s a longtime fan Law & Order: SVUMariska played in it since 1999. Ali, 30, told Us Weekly earlier this month he fully supported their friendship.
“I love it. Captain meets captain,” he said, referring to Hargitay’s co-star Olivia Benson. “I know that’s very cheesy.”
He added, “You watch SVU religiously, for years and years. Seeing him as a fan and being able to see each other, he’s an amazing person. We have shared so many things together. It was really fun.”
Jalen recalled in the last episode of the podcast “The Roommates Show”, which he joined with his colleagues. Josh Harthow his father put him in SVU.
“You just hear something strange [theme song] ‘dun-dun’ all the time in the house,” he said, “Dad also watches the TV incredibly loud, so you can hear it all over the house.”
Jalen continued, “[I] I always find myself watching the show and honestly, the older I got, the more I watched. If I watch a lot now I’m like, ‘I saw that episode,’ I’ve seen a lot of different episodes.
