Jane Seymour and Dr. Quinn Costar Reveals Why They Split Up

Upfront costs Jane Seymour and Joe Lando’s on-screen love story Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman they moved on to real life – but their off-screen romance didn’t last long.
They talked Entertainment Tonight about their reunion on AcornTVs Harry Wild in a TikTok video posted Friday, June 26, Seymour, 75, laughed while insisting it was Lando’s idea to “just be friends.”
“It was my fault,” admitted Lando, 64, Seymour added. “I think it was your decision. I felt bad. But then I did the math and realized that you had planned to have a life that didn’t include suddenly having two more children.”
At that time, Seymour already had two children – a daughter Catherine44, and a son Sean40 — with her third husband, Dylan Flynn. (He later had twin sons, John again Christopher30, with her fourth husband, James Keach. Seymour and Keach split in 2015.)
Lando’s aggressive outsider Byron Sully was the most famous love interest of Seymour’s title character, Dr. Michaela Quinn, during the CBS drama’s six-season run from 1993 to 1998.
“I think, actually, the fact that we didn’t end up having a relationship saved our relationship,” Seymour told her costar. “The best part of our relationship is, we’ve maintained it and grown, meaning we truly love each other.”
Seymour added, “[Joe] you have a beautiful wife and I have a good man in my life!”
Lando is married Kirsten Barlow 29 years and shared four children when Seymour announced her marriage to the singer John Zambetti earlier this month.
In 2019, Seymour was open about her breakup with Lando, recalling that it was “hard” and “difficult” to work with him after the split.

The two have since mended fences and are working together again Harry Wildin which Seymour plays a retired literature professor who solves mysteries in his spare time. (Lando joined Harry Wild in season 5 as pathologist Pierce Kennedy.)
“The fans love to see the two of us doing almost anything together, but they wrote this for him,” Seymour said Us earlier this month.
He added, “I’m very grateful to Joe and I’ve found something we can do together right now.” A new generation of teenagers are watching. Harry Wild Now those who are walking, ‘Wait a minute, what is that? Dr. Quinn something?’ Then they say [watch and discover] Dr. Quinn at the moment. We talk about racism, we talk about different cultures, religions, we talk about medical choices…and so on and so forth.
