I still haven’t decided what my best driver will be

Welcome to Full Fit 2026the new GOLF platform to give you real-golfer insight into which 2026 gears might best suit your game. So far, we’ve brought together six GOLF content creators of varying abilities and sent them through a six-pack full-size golf bag (driver to putter!) at six major club manufacturers in Phoenix and Carlsbad, Calif. We hope that you may see the shadows of your game in one of our editors and learn something and inspiration from their relevant experience. In this installment (below), Jack Hirsh details his low torque putter journey around Fully Fit 2026. You can browse our panelists’ full 2026 dream putters here:

During Fully Fit, I traveled with a few drivers that I really liked. TaylorMade, Callaway, and Cobra all came out swingin’ hard and it was actually hard to tell the difference between them all on the course.
I ended up picking up the Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond because it was always faster than the others. Unfortunately, between swing changes, lack of play, and lack of mental toughness, everything started to fall apart. I couldn’t hit the 18th fairway at St. Andrews’ Old Course, not to mention the tree-lined fairway here at home.
I needed to rebuild. I even went back to the TaylorMade and Cobra designs that I had used so successfully, including breaking out for the first time with the Qi4D. Nothing works.
Luckily, Titleist stepped up their driver releases this year, and my man Hunter at TPI got me fixed.
I went in with complete confidence in my ability to hit the ball off the tee, and I came out of that fit wanting to play more golf. I started playing really good golf, too.
My handicap at the end of last year jumped to 1 from +.3 and was trending up until the GTS3 was put in the bag. Now it’s sitting back at +.3, and I feel like I’m playing the most confident golf of my life. GTS3 made me feel completely invincible. At the moment, and a few weeks later, it was easily the best driver I hit this year.
So far in the rounds I’ve played with the GTS3 installed, I’ve shot for par, made a par, hit 343 yards (I didn’t get out of the sprinkler), and won the visitor’s championship at Victoria National, a golf course that’s notorious for fighting back, especially off the tee.

So naturally, about a week ago, I decided to try a new driver.
It turns out that the greatest gift Hunter gave me was my confidence. Now I’m back on TaylorMade and Cobra with great success, and I’m currently on Qi4D and a new Mitsubishi prototype that I won’t talk about yet, but it has an orange band on it.
My favorite Callaway is, unfortunately, giving me the heebie jeebies now, so we’ll need to ease back into any testing with that one. As a Callaway driver for the past decade, it’s a strange feeling not to have one in the bag now, but it proves why fitness is important and why school testing is king.
The truth is, this story is not over yet. I really thought GTS3 was it. But the success of GTS3 kind of created its own monster because it gave me all the confidence I needed to play better, and now some things are fine again. This combination of Qi4D can be deadly. So rather than answer what made the bag legal, I’ll leave you with a plan to deal with the decision.

Arccos recently released a new update to their app that allows you to compare the performance of different clubs. I’m going on a golf trip this week, and I’m going to play the same course a few times, so we have a perfect storm.
The plan is to bring GTS3 and Qi4D builds with me, and alternate every 4 cycles. After that, it’s straight to the Arccos calculations, and I’ll let the Arccos tell me what to do. Right now, one of the drivers is leading well, but I haven’t hit the same number of shots in both clubs.
At the end of the day, I only care about one thing: which one helps me score better. Arccos measures TONS of data, so there will be a lot to go through.

Here’s what I know for sure. There are many great drivers out there for every golfer. This is the best driver’s market we’ve ever had, and I have a feeling it will continue to be that way for some time to come.
We won’t see a new Titleist or TaylorMade until 2028. Ping will be releasing a new edition in 2027, along with Callaway and Cobra, and Mizuno and Wilson have come out swinging this year with options that I’ve played with a lot of success.
It’s the best time to be in the market for a new driver. The only mandatory action you need to take is to ensure you are eligible, and then return that along with the course information.
