While re-sharing Susan’s comment, Stodden issued a response.

“Under a comment that simply said ‘Courtney Justice’, Dr. Drew’s wife @firstladyove suggested I come on her show to ‘take it out’ with her, and @drdrewpinsky liked the comment. To me, that completely misses the point,” she wrote on Instagram. “This is not for entertainment. This is not a debate. This is not an opportunity to measure up.”

Stodden continued, “I was a teenager when I appeared on his show. I was young in a situation that I couldn’t legally leave, and the money from that apparently went directly to my abuser. What I’m seeing in these comments gives me hope because people understand that this is not about rehashing trauma content. It’s about accountability, and it’s about protecting kids from abuse.”

Stodden also expressed his appreciation for those who supported him.

“Thank you to everyone who represents me, supports me, and sees how bad this is. I see it, and I appreciate it more than you know,” he concluded.

Us Weekly reached out to Dr. Drew’s spokesperson for comment.

Over the weekend, Stodden made headlines when she accused Dr. Drew of abusing her as a child.

“Dr. Drew put me on his program when I was 16 and had me do an ultrasound to see if my breasts were real or if I was lying about my breasts,” Stodden said in a post shared on Instagram on Saturday. “I wasn’t a little girl, I was young and trapped in a situation that I couldn’t legally get out of. I had no rights at that time. The money he paid me to be in this program went to my abuser.”

When Stodden was 16 years old, she married an actress Doug Hutchisonwho was 51 at the time. (Stodden later filed for divorce from Hutchison in 2018 and the couple finalized their separation in 2020.)

During their marriage, Stodden appeared on a 2011 episode of Dr. Drew’s talk show. The TV host ordered Stodden to lie down on stage in front of the studio audience as he performed a breast ultrasound to check for tumors.

“These pictures make me very sad because I see a little girl being abused by grown men and used to be looked at and teased,” he wrote along with the pictures of his appearance. “Dr. Drew, what made you think this was a good idea? As a doctor, did you think this was really healthy for a little girl to go through? Did you care?”

Dr. Waqqas Jalilboard-trained plastic surgeon and founder of Aspect Plastic Surgery, he said Us that examining a breast or considering a small child – especially in a public, televised environment – raises moral red flags.

“In a formal medical setting, procedures such as ultrasound require informed consent, privacy and clear clinical reasons,” said Dr. Jalil Us. “Using a medical device on a young person in front of cameras, without those safeguards, is not medicine – it’s a spectacle. Patients of any age deserve their physical autonomy as a non-negotiable.”

Us reached the representatives of Dr. Drew for comment shortly after Stodden’s post on Saturday but did not hear back.
