Taylor Swift Sends Alan Jackson A Surprising Message During The Show

Taylor Swift sent a sweet message to Alan Jackson during his farewell show in Nashville.

“I want to thank you for your years of writing and your amazing singing and how much that means to us, the fans,” said Swift, 36, in a video that played during the show on Saturday, June 27. “I think my favorite song of yours is ‘Drive’ because in that song you paint such a picture and you tell us the details of your life and I know that was a great example for me when I was young — a singer who just tells the fans about the details of his life.”

He continued, “I am very grateful to you for the way you have treated me and other artists and writers for your support and encouragement over the years, and I am very happy for you to do this program and thank you very much. I love you!”

Jackson played in Nashville at Nissan Stadium in his home Last Call: One More Road – The End The show featured cameos from a number of iconic artists, including Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and more.

However, Swift was not there as fans speculated about her and her boyfriend Travis Kelce they tied the knot after Jackson’s show. (The upcoming wedding is rumored to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 4th weekend.)

In 2025, Jackson announced that he would retire from touring amid his ongoing health battle.

“You may have heard that I’m dying,” Jackson said on stage in an October 2025 video shared via Instagram. “Actually, this is my last show of my career.”

He continued, “I appreciate it [the applause]. You’re going to make me sad here, but I feel like I have to end it where it started – and that [in] Nashville, Tennessee [a.k.a.] Music City, where country music lives. I have to do one last thing there.”

Jackson announced in September 2021 that he had been battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease for ten years. The genetic disease affects the nervous system, often causing progressive loss of muscle tissue and loss of sensation in the arms and legs.

“I have this neuropathy and the nerve disease. It’s a gene I got from my dad,” Jackson said Today show in 2021. “There’s no cure for it, but it’s been affecting me for years, and it’s getting more and more noticeable. I know I explode on stage, and now I have a little balance problem, even in front of the microphone, so, I feel very uncomfortable.”

He continued, “It won’t kill me, it doesn’t kill me, but it’s related.” [to] muscular dystrophy and Parkinson’s disease.”
