Pentatonix Singer Scott Hoying and Husband Welcome 1 Child

Scott Hoying with her husband, Mark Hoyingthey celebrated the birth of their daughter by surrogate.
“HERE! WE ARE DADDY! 🥹 Our baby’s name is… 🩷,” the Pentatonix singer, 34, and Titanic The producer, 35, captioned their engagement on Instagram on Tuesday, June 23, revealing that they decided on the name Birdie James after brainstorming several monikers.
“He was born on June 3 and was given a name near and dear to their hearts,” Scott said People. “The first song I ever learned to sing when I was little was ‘Put on a Happy Face,’ from Bye Bye Birdie.”
The singer also noted that Mark’s middle name is James, adding, “We wanted something musical, but not too nasal. And we just liked that it sounded … It sounded like it could work for any age.”
Scott and Mark say they are over the moon that their bundle of joy arrived months after Scott’s sister Lauren volunteered to be their egg donor.
“I can’t believe how much she sacrificed herself. She was so passionate about it,” Scott said of his sister and how she will always appreciate her sacrifices. “I love my sister so much, and I can’t thank her enough for giving me the gift of life.”

Scott reflected on his life’s journey, revealing that he feels blessed to have found love and is now able to start a new chapter of parenthood with Mark.
They previously released a gender reveal video in January, singing about what their future child might look like before confirming they were expecting a girl.
Before welcoming a baby girl, the couple exchanged vows in July 2023 at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara in Santa Barbara, California. Their ceremony comes more than a year after Scott proposed in the Bahamas in April 2022.
It was really good. It was this amazing flashback of all these memories growing up and it’s like, ‘Am I going to find love?
Scott said he was overcome with emotion when he met their daughter, he admitted, “It’s been a long time since I came and just looking at her, I started to cry because it was such a beautiful thing that I feel really lucky.”
