Olivia Wilde Gives Update on Collaboration with Jason Sudeikis

Olivia Wilde gives a rare insight into how she raised her two children with her ex-husband, Jason Sudeikis.
“I’m a mom who’s there even if I can’t always be there,” said Wilde, 42, on the Wednesday, June 17, episode of “Call Her Daddy” a podcast. “I’m a single parent. I share custody of the children, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to have this space where I’m completely with my children, completely involved with them and they’re my focus. … It’s an interesting thing, like, when you share custody with someone. It changes the way you think about parenting.”
Wilde and Sudeikis, 50, were together from 2011 to 2020, when they welcomed son Otis, 12, and daughter Daisy, 9.
“I really appreciate the opportunity to be with them completely and give them to a skilled parent, who is there with them when they are with them,” said Wilde, adding that he has his own place to “work. [her] f***ing ass off” as the actor and director exchange custody.
He continued, “In my life I feel like I am a hero, not because of my skills, but because of the exchange between identities. [like Superman’s Clark Kent] I will work and be available 100% strong to work 24/7, but everyone in my life knows that when I have my children, it’s the opposite. “
Still, it can still be difficult for Wilde to find work-life balance.
“Sometimes that’s a challenge. You have to find a balance,” the I Want Your Sex agreed the actress. “I actually find dividing responsibilities in a way that allows for wonderful parenting because we’re always there [at] the best for us and our children. They get the best from us.”
When it comes to his dynamic with Sudeikis, Wilde gushed that they are “great f***ing parents.”
He said: “These children always lead us in a way that when we were together it was impossible because we were not working together. “We work very well as separate parents.” When I talk to people in unpleasant situations and stay in them to help the kids, I’m like, ‘You’re not helping anyone.'”
According to Wilde, it was not an “overnight process” to end his relationship with the singer Ted Lasso star.
“It’s very difficult and the idea that a relationship can get to a place where you don’t know them,” he told the podcast host. Alex Cooper. “It was March 2020, and Jason and I had been having a rough time for a long time. It was like, we were on the bus, we were driving back from my birthday party that my friends were having, and I said, ‘Did you give me a birthday present?’ And he said, ‘What can I get you, Olivia? I can’t.’ He was not wrong. We didn’t know each other anymore.”
Wilde and Sudeikis amicably split that fall, and ended up working maintenance plans of Otis and Daisy.
