Male ‘Friends’ Writers Exchange ‘Sex Dreams’ About Actresses

Friends icon Lisa Kudrow shares the dark side of playing the hit sitcom.
In a recent interview no The Times of LondonKudrow, 62, said the classic 1990s comedy “captured a kind of innocence that maybe a younger generation never had,” but it’s not all laughs behind the scenes.
“Oh no, there were bad things going on behind the scenes,” said Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay for all 10 seasons. Friendsplaying nearby Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, David Swhimmer, Matt LeBlanc and late Matthew Perry.
The Emmy winner recalled that the show’s writers’ room was full of men.
“Don’t forget that we were filming in front of a live audience of 400, and if you messed up one of these writers or didn’t get the perfect answer, they might be like, ‘Can’t the f***ing bitch read? She’s not even trying. She put in my line,'” Kudrow said.
He continued, “And we know that back in the room the boys would stay up at night talking about their sexual thoughts about Jennifer and Courteney. It was intense.”
“Oh, it would be cruel, but these guys – and it was a lot of guys there – were up until 3 in the morning trying to write the show so my attitude was, ‘Speak what you like about me behind my back because it doesn’t matter,'” added Kudrow.
Earlier this month, Kudrow looked back on his time Friendsrevealing that he was often referred to as the “sixth Friend,” saying that his Hollywood costars started working before him.
“Nobody cared about me,” he said of the show’s initial success in an interview with UK Independent. “There were certain parts of [my talent agency] who had just called me ‘Sixth Friend.'”
“There was no idea about me and no expectations of the kind of work I could have,” she said. “It was just, like, ‘Boy, are you lucky to be on that show.’
Despite being the first Friends An Emmy winner in 1998, Kudrow said she booked so many independent films that she even had a song called. Analyze Thisa 1999 parody comedy Robert De Niro.
“That’s when agents and businessmen started going around wanting to put me in romantic comedies and so on,” he said. “I knew that wouldn’t work. I’m just unattractive!”
Kudrow also starred in the cult classic movie Romy and Michele’s High School Reunionwhich was released in 1997. Some of his credits since Friends install HBO Coming backis currently in its third and final season.
