3 Best Action Movies to Watch on Prime Video and Disney+

Is there anything more American than watching things explode?
Watch With Us doesn’t think so. That’s why we’ve been celebrating America’s 250th birthday by streaming three great movies on Prime Video, Paramount+ and Disney+.
Top shot turns 40 this year, and so does the film that made it Tom Cruise the star is still as exciting to watch in 2026 as it was in 1986.
Harrison Ford is best known for Gen X movie stars like Han Solo and Indiana Jones, but his take-no-prisoners president Air Force One as scary as those fictional characters.
And while Olympus Has Fallen It’s not a classic, it’s a fun action game at its best Gerard Butler to save the White House – and America – from terrorists.
‘Top Gun’ (1986) – Paramount+ and Pluto TV
Tom Cruise in ‘Top Gun’
Original / Courtesy: Everett CollectionPete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is an Air Force pilot who lives by his code – he doesn’t play by anyone’s rules. A big chip on his shoulder was soon removed by Charlotte Blackwood (Kelly McGillis), a new teacher at Maverick’s Top Gun training school who is not amused by his cockiness. Yes, they’re in love, but Maverick still has something to prove to her and to himself – that he’s the best pilot Top Gun has ever seen.
Classic action packed with testosterone, Top shot it’s about as American as apple pie and Don McLean. The film made Cruise a star, and he’s perfect as a criminal with a reason – and he’s in love with an older woman who’s much wiser and more mature than he is. The aerial combat scenes are still intact, but what’s surprising about the film is how strong the love story is. Cruise and McGillis have great chemistry, and sell their characters’ incredible relationship.
If you want more Maverick action, Top shot: Maverick also available for streaming on Paramount+.
‘Air Force One (1997) – Disney+

Harrison Ford on Air Force One.
EverettThere are many films about the president, however Air Force One it is the only one Harrison Ford like an angry prez with a left hook. President James Marshall (Ford) has every right to be angry – his presidential plane, Air Force One, has been hijacked by some Russian terrorists, and his family is in immediate danger. Marshall is used to fighting political enemies in Congress, but it’s a whole different ball game when he’s alone, 20,000 feet in the air and surrounded by people who want to kill him.
Do you really need to make sure you watch a movie with Harrison Ford fighting Gary Oldman in a plane out of control and about to crash? Air Force One it’s silly, silly fun, and maybe the only movie that makes politics fun. Ford is the best action-hero of the ’90s, period Glenn Close he brings his usual class to the role of the troubled vice president who should be ready to become the world’s most powerful leader in no time.
‘Olympus Has Fallen’ (2013) – Main Video
Watch With Us likes our presidents as action heroes, even though he’s the commander in chief Olympus Has FallenPresident Ben Asher (Aaron Eckhart), you need help. North Korean terrorists have taken over the White House, and have already assassinated the South Korean Prime Minister live on air. The only horsemen to save him is Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), the Secret Service agent Asher still suspects in the death of his wife eighteen months ago. He will have to get rid of that grudge quickly if he hopes to survive a hostage situation that quickly turns to hatred.
Air Force One it looks like a political documentary next to it Olympus Has Fallen. The 2013 action movie may be science fiction, as it takes place in reality where the bad guys manage to break into the White House and steal the nuclear codes. But this fact also has Morgan Freeman as a calm and rational politician (what an idea!) and Gerard Butler as an ass-kicking, stab-loving state cop who can’t bring down a gang of assassins without getting killed. Olympus Has Fallen it’s pure action fantasy, and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. Be sure to avoid its bottom two sequences, London Has Fallen again A Fallen Angel.
