Kathie Lee Gifford In Marriage After Husband Frank’s Death

Kathie Lee Gifford gives fans a real update on her love life more than a decade after the death of her late husband, Frank Gifford.

“I’m not dating anyone right now, and I don’t want to be in a relationship,” said Kathie Lee, 44, in an interview with. People published on Tuesday, June 30. “I am not looking, and I don’t think I will get married again.”

Frank died on August 9, 2015, one week before his 85th birthday. The former NFL player and Kathie Lee have been married for 29 years, tying the knot in October 1986 and welcoming two children, son Cody, 35, and daughter Cassidy, 32, during their time together.

Kathie Lee met Frank at work Good Morning America in 1982. They went through a rocky patch in 1997, when he publicly admitted to being unfaithful. The former TV host reconciled with her husband and together they worked to “heal” their marriage.

While sharing her thoughts on getting back on track with marriage, Kathie Lee said, “I had a chance for that to happen, but it didn’t work out.”

“Frank will always be the love of my life,” said Kathie Lee. “If God wants to do something miraculous, like giving me another great love [then I’m open to it]. So I leave room for a miracle to happen.”

Frank died of natural causes, although his family shared that he suffered from CTE, a progressive brain disease caused by multiple concussions and traumatic brain injuries.

“When Frank died of natural causes this past August at the age of 84, our suspicions that he was suffering from the devastating effects of head trauma were confirmed,” the Gifford family said in a November 2015 statement.

Almost four years after his death, Kathie Lee only told Us Weekly he was open to love.

“I don’t think you go out looking for love, I think you find it,” she said Us to him Today show farewell party in New York City in 2019. “I am a woman of faith, so I think that if God wants it, he will bring it. [found love] already and I just can’t. We will see.”
