Lifestyle expert Lawrence Zarian he opens his heart about the future fate of his dear friend Kelly ClarksonA daytime talk show.
“It’s great because everyone loves him,” Zarian, 61, said to himself. In February, Clarkson, 44, announced her Emmy-winning talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show it will end after its seventh season.

He added, “Because of all that, this was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show. Breaking away from the daily routine will allow me to put my children first, which feels necessary and appropriate for this next chapter of our lives.” (Clarkson shared daughter Rose and son Remy with her late ex-husband, Brandon Blackstockwho died in August 2025 after a private three-year battle with cancer. He was 48.)
Zarian said Us on Saturday that from “day one” he had his heart set on finally singing on the sidelines American Idol the winner.
“From the first day I said, ‘Let’s sing.’ Then I started to push it slowly, repeatedly,” he explained. “What started as a gag became a joke, then it became the truth. And he said, ‘Sure.’ I said, ‘Who are we talking to?'”
Zarian said Clarkson replied with a laugh, “My plan,” which he explained gave him tacit permission to “let loose.” =
“I didn’t think it would happen,” he admitted. “Then he came to me and said, ‘We have two weeks. We have a day on the board.’ I got a voice coach. I have never sung in my life. I studied for two weeks.”
The TV personality told Us that “he has never been so dedicated to anything in my life,” pointing out that what was aired on this program was the first time the two sang together.
“There is a picture of Kelly looking at me that touches my heart deeply,” he added. “Because they say a picture really is worth a thousand words. And the way he loved me? As for what’s next for the singer after leaving the daytime TV life behind, Zarian knows exactly where Clarkson will focus.
“You’re going to be a mother,” she said. “She’s going to be a mother and take care of her children. Unfortunately, the father of those children passed and I think life moves fast. When you’re Kelly Clarkson, you can’t slow down. She chooses her children. She puts on her oxygen mask – and I hope she writes a duet for us!”
