Jake Reiner Makes First Appearance Since Killing His Parents

Rob again Michele Reinerthe son Jake Reiner she made her first public appearance since the brutal murder of her parents and the arrest of her brother Nick Reiner.

“He attended the premiere of Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness this week,” Jake, 35, wrote on Instagram on Thursday, June 25, alongside photos of himself on the red carpet.

Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness is a historical sketch comedy series created by Larry David again Jeff Schaffer and produced by the former president Barack Obama again Michelle Obama‘s Higher Ground Productions. Jake is set to portray Private Wallace in one of the sketches, according to IMDb.

Jake attended the premiere on Tuesday, June 23, wearing black trousers, a navy sports coat over a gray t-shirt and black shoes. She smiled widely as she posed for photos on the red carpet.

This event took place six months after Rob and Michele were found dead with multiple injuries in their home in Brentwood, California. They were 78 and 70, respectively.

Nick, 32, was arrested on suspicion of murdering his parents in December 2025. He was charged with two counts of murder and pleaded not guilty in February. The screenwriter is being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles pending his trial. He is next expected to appear in court in September.

Rob and Michele had sons Jake and Nick, and a daughter Romy29. Additionally, Rob was a father to a daughter Tracy61, whom he took when he married the late Penny Marshall.

Jake and Romy broke their silence on the death of their parents shortly after their brother’s arrest, they said TMZ“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we feel every moment of the day. The terrible and tragic loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something no one should have to feel. They were not just our parents; they were our best friends.”

The siblings continued, “We are very grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but also from people from all walks of life. We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be influenced by compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the wonderful life they lived and the love they gave.”

In April, Jake remembered his parents on social media before his birthday. Long story short, he recalled the moment he heard of Rob and Michele’s death and called his mom and dad “the center” of his life.

“A week from today, I will be approaching my first birthday without my parents,” he wrote in his Instagram caption. “I feel so lucky to have had them for the last 34 years. In the last four months, I’ve learned a lot about grief. I want to thank @iamdavidkessler, who played a huge role in managing the horrors of this process, and my family and friends.”

Jake concluded, “For anyone going through any kind of grief and loss, I can see it.”
