Bunnie Xo Breaks The Silence On Jelly Roll Split, Reason Revealed

Bunny Xo broke her silence after her estranged husband, Jelly Rollfiled for divorce after almost 10 years of marriage,

Opening the Thursday, June 18, episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast, Bunnie, 46, detailed the argument that led to her and Jelly Roll, 41, breaking up.

“J and I were never really good at disagreeing. So, we were the kind of couple that never argued. So, he would hold things back. I would hold things back, and that’s a recipe for disaster,” Bunnie explained on the podcast. “We always preach that you should be comfortable when you have uncomfortable conversations, and we did that for 8 years. Then last year and a half, we got away from that because, we live a different life now.”

Bunnie added that the fight they had on Mother’s Day in May was the straw that broke the camel’s back. During the argument, Bunnie said he told her to “file divorce papers f***”.

“On Mother’s Day, we had a bit of a fight, which I think is unnecessary,” he explained. “And, in that argument, I was so fed up and tired that I just looked at him and said, ‘Well, then file the divorce papers.’

Bunnie explained that she would never threaten a divorce unless she meant it.

“In our relationship, that’s one thing you can say, even though my husband has said it many times,” she commented. “But when I say it, it holds weight because I’m not the type of person who says something I don’t mean.”

He added that despite their separation, the couple is looking to the “future” and remaining “best friends.”

Us Weekly confirmed on June 15 that the singer filed to end her marriage one month earlier, filing for divorce in Tennessee on May 18. She was spotted at the 2026 CMA Fest in Nashville in early June, where she performed on stage without a wedding ring.

Bunnie, meanwhile, posted the underwear on her Instagram Story hours before the divorce news, writing, “She’s getting her shine.” In a separate story, she shared a quote, “Come here, let me show you what love feels like.”

The former couple, who got married in 2016, were candid about the challenges they faced in their marriage. Before their separation, Bunnie wrote in her memoir, He was stripped downthat he and Jelly Roll broke up many times during their relationship.

Bunnie also said in her memoir that Jelly Roll “used to have multiple relationships with different women at the same time.” At first “both of them did not want to marry the same person.”

“That doesn’t mean we agreed to go with whoever we want whenever we want – to me that’s what an open relationship is, and we’re not alone. But if a girl wants to come home with us, we probably won’t say no,” he wrote. “Now here’s the part that might surprise you. J has been telling me that I can sleep with other men if I want to.”

He continued: “We argued many times until I finally accepted who he is. I will not try to change him and make him something he is not — and then I began to agree with him. We both live by the motto that we are not each other’s property and we consider our relationship as free, not open. Freedom of choice. Which means: I will give it to you, but don’t let me have sex. You are the last to know something.”
