There may not have been a better New York moment than what happened Thursday night.

The New York Knicks and Mets were active, when the Jets were going to pick in the NFL Draft, and all hell broke loose.

In less than a minute, the Knicks lost their late playoff lead, the Jets made a controversial pick, and the Mets allowed a game-tying grand slam in the eighth inning.

Those teams are usually lumped together into a personal fandom, and all the emotion was caught on camera Thursday night during a New York radio station’s NFL Draft watch party.

WFAN hosts gathered around cameras and televisions to watch the draft, and with the Jets set to make the 16th overall pick, the Knicks let Atlanta Hawks guard CJ McCollum hit the game-winning jumper with 12.5 seconds left, setting off a small day for Brooklyn Nets fans.

Moments later, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the Jets had selected Oregon’s Kenyon Sadiq.

Baseball in April is usually on the backburner during the NBA playoffs and the NFL Draft, but shortly after the selection was announced, the athlete noticed that the Mets had just allowed an eighth inning, two out, game-clinching grand slam just a day after winning a 12-game streak.

“Oh my God, the Mets just took the lead,” said daytime host Evan Roberts.

The Mets finally scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning thanks to a bases-clearing double by Bo Bichette, though Devin Williams made it sweat in the ninth by plating the tying run in the second.

The Knicks, however, now trail their first round series two games to one despite being heavy favorites going in.

As for the Jets, the selection may be confusing to some, but Sadiq, one of the fastest players of all time, is inconsistent on the field.

The Gang Green also traded up in the first round late Thursday to select Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper.
